An Introduction...

Okay, let me start off by saying I am not your typical beauty queen. That being said, I want you to forget about every pageant stereotype before reading this blog. I was not a child off of 'Toddlers and Tiaras' or anything remotely close to that. I started pageants at the age of thirteen when I got a letter in the mail from an organization called National American Miss, inviting me to attend an open call session to learn more about the organization. Little did I know, that one letter would change my life forever. From that point forward I dedicated myself to achieving my goal of becoming the National American Miss New York Pre-Teen. But I didn't even come close to winning. I didn't win the next year either, or the year after that, or the year after that. For five long years I wasn't able to achieve the goal I had worked so hard for. I finally won the title of National American Miss New York Teen on August 19, 2013. While winning the title did change my life, it was those five years prior that shaped me into the person I am today.

  Who am I?
I am an eighteen year old from New York about an hour and a half north of the city. I will be attending the Massachusetts College of Pharmaceutical and Health Sciences, MCPHS University for short,  as a pre-med major this coming fall. This will be the first step to achieving my dream of becoming a neonatologist or pediatric oncologist at Boston Children's Hospital! Aside from doing pageants I enjoy playing with my two cats,  watching Lifetime movies and reading any book I can get my hands on.

But why start a blog?
Good question! There are a few reasons I wanted to start the blog you are now currently reading. Mainly, I felt that this would be a great way to document the final part of my reign. Many girls who do pageants wonder what it is like to be a queen, I know I did, and I figured this would be a good way to share my experience!  Of course I'll post stuff not related to pageants too, like the crazy things that seem to only happen to me. So if this interests you, I hope you'll stick around with me during this amazing journey.
